THEON SENSORS officially announced at a press conference its strategic partnership with HARRIS Night Vision USA (now ESA - Night Vision) and a joint contract under the SBNVG US Marine Corps program .
THEON SENSORS conducted a press conference in Athens, officially announcing the cooperation with ΗARRIS Night Vision USA (now ESA – Night Vision) and the joint-venture contract for the SBNVG solution towards the United States Marine Corps (USMC).
THEON SENSORS in collaboration with its strategic ally HARRIS Night Vision USA (recently acquired by Elbit Systems of America) participated in an international tender issued by the US Marine Corps.
The outcome of this tender (six submitted proposals) has been successful and resulted on a $249 million USD - 5 year IDIQ contract award, with expected more than 14,000 systems to be delivered.
The contract was awarded by the US Department of Defense (see corresponding announcement: https://www.defense.gov/Newsroom/Contracts/Contract/Article/1954307/) at the beginning of September 2019 with deliveries starting in spring 2020 and concluding in September 2024.
THEON SENSORS, as a subcontractor, will provide to its American industrial partner its dedicated night vision binocular NYX in a Semi Knock Down Kit format, where final manufacturing and dissemination of the complete SBNVG solution will be performed at Roanoke Night Vision production facility. In addition, THEON SENSORS will provide its night vision accessories and spare parts throughout the contract term.
This strategic collaboration of THEON SENSORS with its US partner and the recent award by the USMC for the Squad Binocular Night Vision Goggle (SBNVG) marks also a significant landmark, true success story among the Defense Exports and Cooperation of our countries.

The Minister of Development & Investment, Mr. Adonis Georgiadis expressed his appreciation for the exports record of the high-tech products of THEON SENSORS and especially for the new export contract that the greek company won. As the Minister noted, the greek government supports the greek defense industry, the new innovated products and the export orientation of the greek companies, and will do his best to assist their export efforts. According to the Minister, the successful participation of a greek defense company in an international competition with competitive products is a significant progress. The fact that THEON SENSORS managed to win the contract from the US Armed Forces, which is the best in the world, is an even more remarkable achievement. As the Minister commented, the greek government could not be absent from this remarkable development. In addition, Adonis Georgiadis thanked the US Ambassador Geoffrey R. Pyatt for his decisive contribution on strengthening greek-american relations at all levels, including the economic and business cooperation of two countries.
The US Ambassador to Greece, Mr. Geoffrey R. Pyatt called the new contract “another great example of U.S.-Greek business and defense cooperation, two major areas of focus in the second U.S.-Greece Strategic Dialogue, which took place on Monday (October 7).” He also noted that Deputy Assistant Secretary for Defense Ann Cataldo had congratulated Theon Sensors on the agreement on behalf of our Department of Defense and said he shared her support and enthusiasm for this “landmark accomplishment.” He added, “ΤΗΕΟΝ SENSORS will join another strong Hellenic Pavilion exhibiting at the AUSA Conference in Washington, DC, next week, and through our SelectUSA program, we have introduced ΤΗΕΟΝ SENSORS to U.S. state economic development organizations that are helping the company to find the right location to grow its business in America.”
