Theon Sensors offers a family of image intensified Night Driver’s Viewers for several types of armored vehicles and main battle tanks. With special-to-the-vehicle mounting bracket assemblies, the basic design can be fitted to virtually any type of vehicle. The mounting bracket assembly allows the viewers to rotate left and right with respect to a central detent position for surveillance when the vehicle is stopped. The viewers are installed (typically without tools or modifications to the vehicle) in a special opening of the driver’s hatch, where available, or replace one, usually the central, day periscope. When not in use, the viewers are stored in a metal container.
The viewers are supplied with a 25 mm format image intensifier tube and magnifier assembly. The tube offers Automatic Brightness Control (ABC) and Bright Source Protection (BSP). In addition to ABC and BSP, the viewers feature an Electronic Control Assembly that switches off the viewer when exposed to daylight conditions. Operation is simple with only one single ON/OFF - Gain Control switch.
In Greek mythology, the TITANS were immortal giants of incredible strength and were also the first pantheon of Greek gods and goddesses.
URANIA is a digital day and night military camera designed for use with armored vehicles. It offers 4x magnification particularly suited for use on armored vehicles for observation and targeting in day and night.
URANIA is fully tested according to international standards for armored vehicles. The system uses a uniquely designed ICMOS sensor for night vision that includes an image intensifier tube coupled to an optimized global shutter CMOS sensor, resulting in unique optical performance.
The video is sent over Ethernet, while control is implemented over CAN bus. Fully customizable design, including the video protocol and overlays, for service in a wide variety of platforms.
In Greek mythology, URANIA is the muse of astronomy and daughter of Zeus by Mnemosyne.
ARTEMIS is a family of Night Vision Stand Alone Sights with 3x, 4x, 6x magnification for infantry weapons. The sights are of low weight, small dimensions, have good boresight retention and high performance under all light conditions due to optimised optics and high-performance US or European I2 tubes. The kinematic mounting bracket assembly allows direct mounting of the sights on Picatinny rails, precise adjustment in elevation and azimuth, and retention of boresighting under harsh conditions.
The reticle is red illuminated, while the reticle cell can be easily replaced in the field without tools to take into account the different ballistic properties of different weapons and ammunition.
ARTEMIS of the wild land, Mistress of Animals.
THEON SENSORS’ DAMΩN family of Clip-On Night Vision Devices (CNVDs) was developed to provide soldiers with an unrivaled night vision and target acquisition capability. The clip-on sights are designed for use in tandem with medium or long range day sights to provide targeting at night, while maintaining the day optic’s ballistic zeroing.
DAMΩN is simple in operation with ON/OFF/Manual Gain Control and Focus knobs ergonomically positioned on the device.
DAMΩN attaches quickly and with a simple way to picatinny rails (optional use of single lever mounts). No removal of the day sight or any boresighting is required, thus eye relief shooting position and user’s muscle memory remain the same. Day sight’s exit eye box is retained via DAMΩN’s large collimating optics. DAMΩN is manufactured of aircraft-grade aluminum and is fully military specified and tested. An additional picatinny rail enables installation of auxiliary equipment such as an IR illuminator etc. The DAMΩN MR is suitable for short-range rifles (i.e. M16, M4, AK-47 etc.), while the LR is suitable for the squad leader’s weapon, Sniper Rifles and Machine guns (i.e. FN Minimi, MG3, M2 HB, MK19 etc.).
In Greek mythology, the legend of DAMΩN symbolizes trust and loyalty in a true friendship.
THEON SENSORS' Driver Viewer Enhancer (DVE) was developed to provide armored vehicle drivers with the essential requirement of driving during all possible field scenarios; in day or night, through dust, fog and dirt. THEON SENSORS' THERMóN uses an uncooled Long Wave Infrared sensor (LWIR), electronics and optical technologies to deliver world leading performance and reliability. With its ruggedized design, THERMóN ensures prolonged operational availability. The user can manually control the DVE through the display for ease of operation.
ARGUS is a family of innovative, full MIL-SPEC, image intensified multi-purpose monoculars systems that can be operated as hand-held, head- helmet or weapon-mounted. Lightweight, yet of robust construction, with superior optical characteristics and performance, utilizing standard AA batteries (rechargeable, alkaline or ()lithium) for operation. This groundbreaking system allows the individual soldier to perform observation, short range (surveillance, weapon aiming, map reading and medical aid operations during all night conditions). Both versions (LW and FS) can be offered with or without Manual Gain Control (MGC).

NYX is a cutting edge, full MIL-SPEC, image intensified, dual tube binocular that is able to be operated helmet-mounted, head-mounted or hand-held. It offers better depth perception than single tube systems making it easier to judge distances and relative motion so the ability to perform tasks such as driving is greatly improved. NYX is the ideal choice for special operations forces.
NYX includes an integrated infrared illuminator, reducing the need for the warfighter to carry a separate illuminator. Image intensifiers enable soldiers to operate in low- and no-light combat scenarios more effectively than ever before and can easily be replaced at the unit level
For momentary configuration changes, the user can flip away each monocular separately. With both monoculars flipped away and flipped up, the system stows along the contour of the helmet thus reducing its silhouette and neck strain, minimizing the danger of system damage. NYX features self-contained single AA battery power and can be also operated via a remote battery pack at the rear of the helmet for increased operational life.
NYX is the Greek goddess of the night, gives birth to Aether (Brightness) and Hemera (day)
THEON SENSORS’ THERMÍS family of uncooled Thermal Weapon Sights (TWS) was developed to provide soldiers with an unrivaled day/night advantage in detecting, observing and engaging hostile targets, independent of darkness and common obscurants used for visual concealment.
The THERMÍS family sights incorporate the latest IR sensor, electronics and optical technologies to deliver world leading performance and reliability. All variants generate superior IR imagery, ensuring target recognition at the maximum possible range.
Tailored engine design is coupled with intuitive user interface to deliver maximum range performance. Optimized control of the image processing and region-of- interest settings result in enhanced user experience. Local contrast enhancement delivers superior image quality.
The built in digital compass and inclinometer provide range estimation and target orientation.
The THERMÍS SR is suitable for short-range weapons (i.e. M16, M4, AK-47 etc.), the MR for either short-range or medium machine guns (i.e. M16, M4, AK-47 or FN Minimi, MG3 etc.) and the LR / ELR models for the squad leader’s weapon, Sniper Rifles, and Heavy Machine guns (i.e. M2 HB, MK19 etc.).
Theon Sensors participated at the international trade fair for command, control and operational equipment used by security agencies Enforce Tac 2017. Official security experts took the opportunity to have a close look at our world class Night Vision and Thermal systems.
